Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen,I feel very happy to be with you today. First ， let me introduce myself. My name is Li song qing ,and I am a graduate of Beijing General Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
Right now, as long as 2008 is mentioned, Beijing Olympics of 2008 will certainly bounces into our mind. I believe every Chinese takes pride in such a grand event. But today, the topic of my speech will be Mineral Processing Technology and the Year of 2008.
We can not stress too much the importance of improving resource utilization efficiency, especially when the central government initiates to construct a harmonious society by 2020. 2008 will witness the first step to this great goal. Mineral processing technology can recover and enrich useful minerals, supply favorable materials for metallurgy and help to slash off environmental pollution.
Once upon a time, there was a gold mine big in scale but poor in grade. Many people were eager to extract more gold from it. But most people did not know how? Surely, the person who was capable of enriching the gold would win and get rich finally. To put it simply, this is just mineral processing technology can do.
Mineral processing technology is an effective method to enhance resource utilization. Resources can not be regenerated, but their utilization can be upgraded. Development is the topic of the world, but development can not be achieved without mineral resources. As you know, it is not realistic to completely rely on importing resources from other countries. Therefore we should attach great importance to the utilization of our limited resources and mineral processing technology will play an important role in addressing such issues.
Some people say mineral processing will incur bad effect on environment. It is indeed a question we can not escape. First, what we should do it to make great efforts to reduce the bad effect. Secondly, mineral processing technology can be used to process mineral trash and living rubbish in order to minimize environmental pollution.
In one word, I am fully confident mineral processing technology can make its due contribution to achieve a harmonious society. We are expecting to see some of the fruits in 2008.
